Enata 30… “30’ fast planing offshore racer”

Enata 30 - Hans Genthe - fast planing racer

In June this year, Hans Genthe published the first draft concept and designs of a “30’ fast planing offshore racer”, called E30, short for Enata 30, to be built in the United Arab Emirates.

THE CONCEPT
The idea behind this boat is to offer a carbon sailing rocket without a great variety of options but with high-quality basic equipment at a really good price, so that everyone can easily adapt the boat to his individual needs with comfort or other technical equipment.

Hans Genthe writes on his blog

The yacht is supposed to be very light, quick to assemble without a crane, easy to transport. Designed to fulfill Category B CE norm, designed to be raced single or doublehanded offshore of with a crew of 6 inshore.

Amazingly enough, Hans promises a selling prices at 84.000€ (excluded taxes) and an extremely aggressive time plan.

July – calculation of all accessories finished

August – Design/CFD/Structural engineering finished

September molds ready

October 1st Hull completed

November 1st Hull ready to sail. Tests.

December Packing, etc.

February: Boat arrives in Hamburg

From December we could build at least 1 boat per month

Today (end of September) he has announced on Facebook that the first molds will be started in approximately 2 weeks. In spite of the slight delay, this sounds like an impressive achievement.

Here the full story and specs.

While hull and sail plan seem to be finalized, Hanse is now looking for feedback in relation to deck layout.

This is, by all accounts, a real racing machine that offers little or no comfort at all, but promises a lot of fun and an amazingly portable toy, able to compete in the growing offshore doublehanded segment with yachts such us Dehler 30OD or L30, but at a significantly lower displacement and price point.

Really curious to follow the development of such an ambitious plan and to see the first of these rockets on the water early next year!

Input? Feedback?
