Have we just got slower?
All other things equal, Veloce’s new sail inventory seems to rate very well.
We designed sails for all-round performance and ease of handling, without a care for rating. As it turns out, we rate “slower” than the standard J/80 One Design configuration.
The Swedish system is based on a single number time-factor for time-on-time calculation, called SRS for full crew racing and SRSs double handed.
For comparison, the standard J/80 SRS rates 0,974 vs Veloce’s SRS at 0,970; double-hand standard J/80 SRSs rates 0,952 vs Veloce’s SRSs at 0,949.
Now it’s time to put time on the water and squeeze out what we can!
