A year of isolation and confinement accelerated the interest in sailing with no crew. Or with a crew at a bare minimum.
A number of initiatives blossomed along the Swedish Coast and joined the growing sequence of solo races (here some of the reports from last season)
Gothenburg Lighthouses Solo Race
Several established regattas have gone “doublehanded”. Some introduced a doublehanded class. Some grew considerably theirs. An obvious trend across the globe, especially on our beautiful coast, sped up by forced isolation.
It became however apparent that the Swedish West Coast was lacking a platform for the shorthanded community to meet, stay informed, kickstart initiatives with the right reach and be inspired by local like-minded sailors.
No-crew.se, on the East side of the Country, was thriving and has since a long time hoped to consolidate the national shorthanded community.
The perfect opportunity!

Here a “shorthanded” calendar aggregating all solo races/challenges, doublehanded regattas and regattas with a doublehanded class planned for 2021 on the West Coast.
